Joseph G. Boyer Jr. of Kennett Square, was born on September 20, 1925 in West Chester to the late Joseph G. and Dorothy Robinson Boyer. He passed away quietly on Saturday, December 29, 2012 after a lengthy illness. He served honorably in the United States Navy as a Seabee during WWII. He retired after 38 years of service from Lukens Steel in Coatesville. He never fully retired staying busy with various odd jobs. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 64 years, Gladys Holliday Boyer, four children, J. David of Kennett Square, John G. of New Castle, Del., Kevin T. of West Grove, and G. Michele of Aurora, Colo.; 12 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. Family and friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at Greater Emmanuel Temple Church, 296 Pemberton Rd., Kennett Square, PA 19348.
